University of Manitoba Orthopædic Trauma and Lower Extremity Reconstruction Fellowship.
This program is designed to maximize the candidate’s clinical exposure to orthopaedic trauma surgery. The Health Sciences Centre is the Level I Trauma Center for the Province of Manitoba. One to two orthopaedic trauma operating rooms are managed each weekday by five fellowship trained trauma surgeons. The fellow can expect a high volume of complex trauma cases, as well as exposure to complex knee ligament reconstruction and foot and ankle reconstruction.
Fellows are expected to manage patients at a senior level. Call will be approximately one day/night in five. In addition to clinical duties, the fellow is also expected to participate in fracture rounds and other teaching activities aimed at residents and medical students.
Candidates for this position must have completed an approved Orthopaedic Residency Training Program.
